What exactly is Vaping? Vaping is the procedure for inhaling the vaporized aerosol (taste) from a cigarette or other similar device, most often referred to as a Vaporizer. The Vaporizer industry has very little regulation. Unfortunately, the dangers of vaporing cigarettes are also being discovered. Recent reports in the news have suggested that second hand vapors may be in the same way harmful because the smoke they produce. While much more recent reports suggest that vapors produced from electric cigarettes contain far lower degrees of toxins than those from smoking cigars or pipes, the risks of vaporizing cigarettes are a complicated subject.
The main problem with vaporizing cigarettes is that there is no way to know what degree of toxic chemicals are being JUUL Pods emitted by the devices themselves. You can find no government regulations to protect consumers. No independent testing of the composition of vaporizers has ever been done. The reason that the dangers of vapors are only now learning to be a public concern is because of the rise of young vapers. It’s been estimated that more than 25% of young people between your ages of 18 and 25 have at some point tried to quit smoking utilizing an electronic cigarette. While some of the young people may have succeeded, there is an increasing number that fail. It’s been reported that most of the failed attempts were caused by ignorance of the dangers of e-juice and the consequences it can have on your body.
In July of 2021, a study published in the history of Internal Medicine reported that there was a significant upsurge in the risks of smoking among former smokers once they began using vapour technology to quit smoking. This study showed that there have been a significant upsurge in the ratio of people who had cigarettes and the ones who had e-juices. As the vapour products were not proven to significantly increase the likelihood of having a cigarette, these were shown to increase the odds significantly. This study is reason enough to stop smoking altogether.
Another study published in the journal of Public Health showed that there was a significantly increased risk of stroke for long term vapor users. This comes as a shock to many people because you can find no known risks of lung disease associated with vapour products. It had been also discovered that long-term smokers who had used e-liquids had significantly increased risks of most sorts of cancers. It appears as though the dangers of vaping are just waiting to be uncovered.
E-liquid ingredients appear to contain a variety of chemicals which are either toxic to your skin. The vapours produced when capturing the products could cause irritation to the the respiratory system. If you use a device while you are smoking and you get throat irritation from the nicotine in the air, this is the sign you could be putting yourself at risk of developing lung disease. Lots of people believe that if you use the devices long enough you will never need to be worried about this or think about the risks of lung disease. That may be true if all of your life has been spent vaping, but for anyone that is considering quitting cigarettes it could be a good idea to get a breather and look into the dangers of vapour technology a little further.
